Field Trips

During On-the-Farm Field trips, students deepen their knowledge about science, environment, and health. By meeting and working with farmers on our property, they put this knowledge into immediate, practical use while heightening their appreciation of fresh produce that they participate in growing. On-the-Farm Field Trips are conducted by our skilled farm educators in precise alignment with CA Common Core and California’s Next Generation Science Standards at each grade level.

On-The-Farm Field Trips

What to expect:

  • Two hours of instruction led by our skilled farm educators

  • Four stations of hands-on activities covering concepts in science, environment, and health. Lessons/activities are aligned with CA Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards at each grade level.

  • Farm tour and time to meet & greet farm animals

  • Instructional materials for preparatory or follow-up lessons.

Each field trip can accommodate up to 30 students. We ask that each classroom is accompanied by at least 4 adults.

“This experience was perfect for my first graders. It reinforced the NGSS standards that we are learning in a fun, hands-on way. The staff provided excellent information, showing the important aspects of a farm. They were positive, engaging, and educational. I would highly recommend this field trip!”
