College Corps

City Farm SLO is proud to be partnered with the AmeriCorps Californians For All College Fellowship program as a community host organization.

Californians For All or "College Corps" provides more than 10,000 college students with opportunities to support and learn from community-based organizations. October 2022, City Farm SLO welcomed 28 College Corps fellows, all Cal Poly students, who will work with us to complete 450 service hours in the areas of climate action, food security, and K-12 education.

Our Fellows

Whether they're leading harvests, assisting with our Therapeutic Horticulture programs, or providing support to our tenant farmers, our fellows are building technical skills that will positively impact, not only their future but the future of our community.

Contributions Made

With the help of our fellows, we have...

  • Delivered thousands of pounds of fresh produce to the SLO Food Bank

  • Taught thousands of individual instruction hours to students on the farm

  • Created hours of educational content

  • Started producing farm-fresh eggs from our lovely flock of chickens

  • Supported our amazing tenant farmers

Thank you, College Corps Fellows!

"Working at the farm has been such a meaningful opportunity. City Farm SLO staff has been amazing at guiding us through our College Corps experience. I really appreciate everyone’s patience and willingness to teach. In the future, I look forward to continuing to work with organizations that value sustainability. Working at City Farm SLO and learning about regenerative farming has been an excellent resource and I look forward to applying all of this knowledge in my future career.”
